America Isabel Santiago Dies at 66

America Isabel Santiago America Isabel Santiago died peacefully at her residence on Feb. 2. She was born on Feb. 9, 1946, in Santo Domingo to Bienvenido and Santiaga Marte. She was 66 years old.
She is survived by her sons: Marco and Ruben Marte, and Elia Santiago; daughter, Ruth Agelica Elmes; brothers: Bienvenido and Jose Luis Marte; sisters: Socorro, Lourdes and Guillermina Marte, and Arcadia Mejia; grandchildren: Tanasia and Jahkela Santiago, Jessica, Jonathan and Jose Marte, and Ruben Luna; many other relatives and special friends: Leroy Elmes, better known as "C.J.," Mr. and Mrs. Cycil Smith, Ashley Brown, Richard Harrigan, Ronnie Hunt, Daniel Liburd and Gloria Frederick.
A viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb.20, at the John Thomas Memorial Chapel, 3019 Contant. A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Burial will be in the Smith Bay Eastern Cemetery.
