Charles Ray Lee Dies in Texas

Charles Ray "Dagger" Lee of Concan, Texas, passed away on Jan. 21, at his residence at the age of 75. He was born on Feb. 13, 1937, in Freer, Texas, to Joe Lee Sr. and Elizabeth Wilkins Lee. He married Janice Kight in Freer on Nov. 21, 1956.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years; daughter, Jana Lee; son, Kyle Lee and wife, Rachel, all of Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands; sisters-in-law: Nell Lee of Houston and Jean Lee Dolling of Freer; brothers-in-law: James "Bud" Kight of Jourdanton, Texas, and David Butler and wife, Nora, of La Grange, Texas; seven grandchildren: Cliffton Lee, Jenna Castro, Kraig Lee, Jaymi Castro, Ashly Compton, Sean Lee Berrios and Antonio Berrios; three great-grandchildren: Justin Lee, Jayla Brown and Caydo Lee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many close friends in the Virgin Islands.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Edgar Berrios; three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Concan Baptist Mission in Concan, Texas. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Rutledge Cemetery in Poteet, Texas. Memorial donations may be made to the Special Olympics Virgin Islands, P.O. Box 3712, Kingshill, U.S. Virgin Islands 00851 or the Concan Baptist Mission, Concan, TX 78838.
