St. Croix Public Libraries and Rotary Clubs Partner for International Literacy Day

The Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums has partnered with four St. Croix Rotary Clubs to celebrate International Literacy Day on Saturday,
Sept. 8, in Buddhoe Park, Frederiksted. “This is an event not to be missed,” said Ingrid Bough, territorial director of Libraries, Archives and Museums.
Everyone is invited to the event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will include Rotarians reading stories to children, and the St. Croix Bookmobile where everyone can sign up for a library card. The Rotarians will be distributing free books for children and adults.
If anyone would like to donate books for the event they can contact any of the Rotary Clubs or drop them off at Buddhoe Park during the event. This is a time both the Virgin Island public libraries and
Rotarians share their mutual literacy goals to promote reading for
life-long learning and storytelling. Families can make this a special family reading time.
For information, call 643-9888 or e-mail sphaire@gmail.com. For more information about the event, contact Ingrid Bough, territorial director, at 773-5715 or contact Sandra Gerard-Leung, the St. Croix Rotary coordinator, at 643-9888.
