the musical hit “Cabaret,” on Aug. 4, 5, 12 and 13 at the theater
located in Tillet Garden.
Third Reich. There are seven principle singer/actor parts; The MC, (tenor) a strange and leering man who controls the evenings escapades; Sally Bowles, (alto) an anything goes, bon vivant looking to drain every ounce of excitement out of life; Clifford Bradshaw (baritone) an aspiring American writer who falls in love with Sally; Fraulein Schneider (alto) the proper owner of a boarding house; Herr Schultz (tenor) an older Jewish fruit shop owner; Fraulein Kost
(mezzo) a “working” girl; Ernest Ludwig (non-singing) a charming
entrepreneur and Nazi.
In addition there are numerous adult supporting roles for waiters,
sailors, custom officers, club goers, and the Kit Kat Club dancers. Roles are also available for male and female students ages 16-20 (young sailors, waiters, telephone girls and Kit Kat girls).
The principle and supporting characters need to sing, act and move well. Principle and supporting roles will be asked to read for the roles and sing a song (a pianist will be provided). For your vocal audition please prepare 16 measures of a musical theater song that shows off your voice. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist or a CD if possible. Please consider vocal ranges when making your song selection.
combination will be taught. Pistarckle Theater will consider all performers for all roles.
Auditions will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4; Sunday, Aug. 5 and Sunday, Aug. 12. They will also be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13.
