The Vikings avenged an earlier loss to the 40 Plus Hurricanes, winning by a score of 13-3, and the Dominicanos continued their dominance over the Cobras in league play, beating them, 10-6, in the late game.
Vikings 13, Hurricanes 3
Vikings ace Shaun Matos avenged an early season loss to the 40 Plus Hurricanes by pitching his team to a lopsided victory in Sunday’s opening contest. Matos scattered four hits and gave up just three runs in his complete game victory.
It was the Vikings with 13 runs on 12 hits and six errors, while the Hurricanes finished with three runs on four hits and five errors.
Top Vikings batters were Arthur Canaii, Mark Franklin and Jahmoy Williams (2 for 4 with one RBI) and Ray Mendes (2 for 4).
For the Hurricanes, Jose Morales was 1 for 4 with one RBI, and Sonny Christopher and Carmelo Torres were both 1 for 3. Malcolm McGregor got the loss on the mound.
Dominicanos 10, Cobras 6
The Dominicanos continued their dominance over the Cobras in their head-to-head matchup with a 10-6 victory in Sunday’s late game. It was the Dominicanos with 10 runs on 10 hits and two errors, while the Cobras finished with six runs on seven hits and three errors.
The winning pitcher was Juan Santana and Otoniel Perrera got the loss.
