Bovoni Shootout Leaves Three Injured

St. Thomas detectives are investigating a shooting incident that injured three men early Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred just before 9 a.m. Tuesday, near Lima Superette’s parking lot.

According to a V.I. Police Department news release, the victims included: a 23-year-old man that was grazed in the back of his head, a 24-year-old that was hit in his stomach, right foot, and left inner thigh, and a 32-year-old man that was shot in his left calf.

The victims told police that they did not see who shot them, and did not know why anyone would try to shoot them, the release said.

At this point, the victims’ names have not been released, but VIPD did say that they were all treated at Schneider Regional Medical Center for their injuries.

The case is being actively investigated and police are urging anyone with information to call detectives at 715-5545, 715-5522, or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
