Man Assaulted at Service Station

St. Croix police officers in B Command arrested 28-year-old Kevin Josephat Saturday morning for allegedly assaulting a 58-year-old male at Amigo’s Service Station in Hannah’s Rest.

According to police, an officer was at Amigo’s Service Station having a conversation with several people when Josephat approached asking for money. The individuals apparently told Josephat “no,” and continued their conversation. Shortly after, the officer heard a scream, and saw the victim struggling with the suspect. Josephat had allegedly grabbed the victim from behind and he had fallen on his face.

Josephat was allegedly choking the victim and attempting to grab money from the victim’s hand, when the officer intervened and arrested him. The victim’s face was scratched during the assault and his denture plate was broken.

Bail for Josephat was set at $25,000, and he was remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending further court action.
