The Virgin Islands Triathlon Federation will host a Splash ‘n Dash at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27, on the grounds of the Chenay Bay Resort. This swim/run event is part of the Junior Tri VI race series, which consists of six races for kids ages 5-15.
The Splash ‘N Dash will begin with a 25-meter swim for the 5-6-year-old category, a 50-meter swim for the 7-8-year-old category, a 100-meter swim for the 9-11-year-old category and a 200-meter swim for the 12-15-year-old kids. (Floaties and swim aids are welcome) After making the transition, the 5-6-year-old group will run .25 mile, the 7-8 group will run the same distance, the 9-11 group will run .5 mile and the oldest group will complete a full mile. The swim will be a point-to-point course and the run will be contained within the grounds of the resort.
Registration opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 7:45 a.m. The entry fee is $5 per child. Shoes must be worn for the run portion of the event. Awards will be presented to the top three males and females in each age group.
