St. Thomas detectives are investigating two unrelated cases that occurred Wednesday evening.
According to police reports, detectives were sent to Nadir Hill to investigate a robbery. When they arrived, the victim, a 51 year old male, said he was sitting on the side of the road a little before 9 p.m. when he saw a gold four-door Suzuki jeep drive past.
The jeep reversed to where the man was sitting and a male passenger wearing a multicolored mask came out, approached the man, and pointed a gun at him.
The victim told police that the perpetrator then took his gold chain and left the area in his car.
A few hours earlier, officers were sent to investigate an unrelated burglary in progress at a home in Estate Smith Bay.
The victim told the police that she was in her bedroom when she heard knocking at the front door and the glass break. She opened the door and closed it again when two men approached her.
The victim called 911, but the suspects left her house before police arrived, according to a V.I. Police Department news release. Nothing was taken from the home.
Both cases remain under active investigation. Anyone with any information is urged to contact detectives at 714-9834, 715-5522 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
