Additional road work has been scheduled for Queen Mary Highway (Route 70) from Peter’s Rest to Contentment Road in the vicinity of the Christiansted Bypass project. The road work will be ongoing for the next two weeks and will include paving, striping, adjusting of manhole structures and grading of the shoulders of the roadway, according to a press release issued Thursday by the Department of Public Works.
During construction activities, traffic flow will be reduced to a single lane during the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes during these scheduled work times wherever possible.
