Police Investigate Armed Robbery and Break-in

St. Croix Police are investigating an armed robbery and a break-in; the first occurred Friday at Estate Peter’s Rest, the second at Harbor View apartments on Saturday.

A male victim on Friday was assaulted and robbed of cash and a cell phone at gunpoint at Estate Peter’s Rest at approximately 10 p.m. when police were dispatched to the scene.

According to a VIPD release, the victim told police he parked his car in the parking lot and saw two unknown persons wearing black T-shirts, washed-out jeans and shirts covering their faces. Allegedly, the people approached him and demanded money, and they began to fight. According to the victim, one of the suspects had a handgun and struck him on his head and took his cash and cell phone.

On Saturday, a man living at Harbor View apartments was allegedly robbed of his personal effects, but was not injured.

At 3:15 a.m., police were dispatched to investigate a burglary at the private residence. According to police the victim said he secured his home, went to sleep, and when he woke up at about 2:30 a.m., he saw a door ajar that he had closed earlier. The victim said his TV, cell phone and flashlight were missing. He could not be sure if the door had been locked.
