Summer Basketball League Finals Continue

Ain’t Gonna See Us Fall avenged their only regular season loss with a commanding 60-42 win over Blazers in game one of the Zero Tolerance 16-18 Summer Basketball League finals Friday afternoon. Agyei Gregory led AGSUF with 16 points and Shanel Caines added 11. Sekayi Petersen and Deland Isidore led the Blazers with 11 points each. Game two of the best of three is set for Saturday afternoon.
In game one of the semifinals of the Governmental and Industrial Coed Basketball League, Education needed every second on the clock to hold off Airport I, 72-70, in overtime. Akil Lewis nailed six 3-pointers on his way to 32 points, and athletic Jamari Maduro pitched in with 24 points. Andrew “Pooch” Christian scored all 16 of his team’s first quarter points and finished with a whopping 32 points.
In the other semifinal, Medics ousted Fire, 58-50. Fitzroy “Speedy” Dunrod led Medics with 18 points and Steve Gardner added 17 points. Roane Dowe led Fire with 20. Education and Medics will meet in what should be an action packed finals. Medics destroyed Education in their only meeting of the season, which was Education’s only loss of the season. Education has won three straight championships and held off Medics three games to one last year.
Action starts at 7:15 pm at Charlotte Amalie High School.
