Labor Seeks Groups to Deliver Activities for Youth

Commissioner of Labor Albert Bryan, Jr. invites organizations and groups interested in providing life skills and career exploration activities for youths, ages 14-15, during the summer to contact the department. Programs should run for no less than four weeks. Mini-grants of up to $4,500 are available for qualified providers, according to a press release issued on April 27 by the V.I. Department of Labor.
Interested groups can obtain a Summer Youth Workshop Application by contacting the offices on St. Thomas at 776-3700, on St. Croix at 773-1994, or by visiting www.vidol.gov. Applications can also be picked up at DOL’s St. Thomas location and the Church Street and mini-mall locations on St. Croix. The deadline to apply is May 9.
