Air Force Staff Sgt. Wade E. Mcfarlande/St. Croix

Dec. 14, 2010 (Joint Hometown News Service) – Air Force Staff Sgt. Wade E. Mcfarlande has deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan, to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Enduring Freedom is the official name given to anti-terrorism military operations involving U.S. troops and allied coalition partners. Reserve component members from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces have been mobilized, activated and deployed along with active duty members to support the war against global terrorism. Mission objectives encompass combating the international terrorist network or regime forces outside the borders of the United States. U.S. troops serve in South and Southwest Asia, Central Asia, the Arabian Peninsula, islands in the Pacific and other countries.
Mcfarlande, a crew chief with six years of military service, is regularly assigned to the 23rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Valdosta, Ga.
He is the son of Aretha Mcfarlande of Mount Pleasant St., Frederiksted, U.S. Virgin Islands, and father of Wade A. Mcfarlande III of N. Moody Drive, Ray City, Ga.
The staff sergeant is a 2004 graduate of the St. Croix Educational Complex High School, Frederiksted.
