Brief: Murder Victim Identified

Police have identified the victim of Friday’s murder in Estate Grove Place as 20-year-old Dushane Watts of Estate Upper Love.

According to the police report, a patrol unit was dispatched by 911 operators to a call of shots fired in Estate Grove Place. When the officers arrived they found a black vehicle with bullet holes in it but did not see the victim.

At the same time police were told that a gunshot victim had been taken to the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital by private vehicle. Police were further informed that the victim, Watts, died at the hospital.

Detectives continue to investigate the case. Anyone with any knowledge of this murder is asked to call the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 712-6077, 712-6037, the Major Crime Bureau at 712-6075, 712-6035 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
