Dear Source:
On Saturday, Sept. 11, the Rotaract Club of St. Thomas II carried out its first community service project for the 2010-2011 Rotaract year. The project was a success! Rotaract members, as well as members from the community, came out and participated in our efforts to clean up one of our notable beaches on the island of St. Thomas: Vessup Bay.

Individuals donated gloves and tools to assist us in successfully carrying out this project. Mr. Cordel Jacobs of the Anti-Litter and Beautification Commission was very happy that Rotaract members are taking a vital interest in the community and the environment, saying it speaks highly of the group and it shows people, especially tourists, that we care about our community and in keeping our beaches clean.
Leroy Davis, Community Service Director, and the other members of the committee did an outstanding job in coordinating and implementing this project. Kudos to all of you!! The Rotaract Club of St. Thomas II would like to give special thanks to Mr. Cordel Jacobs of the Anti-Litter and Beautification Commission for his support and donation of rakes, trash bags, and pickers. Also, a special thank you to the Department of Housing, Parks and Recreation for removing the trash collected from the site. Furthermore, a special thank you goes out also to our sponsor club, the Rotary Club of St. Thomas II, the entire membership of the Rotaract Club of St. Thomas II, its alumni members, and other members from the community that made this event a successful one. Thank you!
