DOL Announces Successful Payouts of Retroactive Unemployment Insurance Payments

Department of Labor Commissioner Albert Bryan Jr. has announced that the department has successfully completed the conversion of the Emergency Unemployment Compensation 2008 (EUC08) program from a manual to the Virgin Islands Department Of Labor Automated System (VIDOLA$) automated process. A simultaneously enhancement to VIDOLA$ also made possible the payment of retroactive Federal Additional Compensation (FAC) funds to unemployment benefit recipients.

Approximately 4,500 checks totaling over $2 million dollars were mailed out to them within the last week. The dedicated staff of the Unemployment Insurance Division and the IT staff worked tirelessly to expedite the steps necessary to address the processing of these checks. All checks have been mailed out and clients are requested to wait approximately three days for receipt of their check.
