Crime Stoppers Needs Your Help

Crime Stoppers is asking your help to solve the following crimes. Even the smallest bit of information may be just what law enforcement needs to solve these cases.

  • St. Croix: Detectives are seeking information about the person(s) involved in the robbery at the Randall “Doc” James Racetrack on Monday, Aug. 16, around noon. Police suspect the perpetrators were also in the area that morning.
  • St. John: Police are seeking your assistance in solving a daylight burglary that occurred on Wednesday, Sept. 30, in the area of Villa Carib in Chocolate Hole. Electronics were removed from a residence, including several iPods. Please help police identify the burglars and recover the electronics.
  • :St. Thomas On Friday, Sept. 25 between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., a residence was burglarized in Estate Nadir, in the area of the horse track. A large amount of cash and jewelry were taken. Police need your help to identify the burglars and to recover the jewelry.

Community members can submit tips to Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). The tips are completely anonymous, and the stateside operators are bilingual. Tipsters can also submit tips online at www.CrimeStoppersUSVI.org or by texting “USVI” plus your message to CRIMES (274637). If a tip leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property or illegal drugs, the tipster receives a cash reward to be paid according to their instructions. Only anonymous callers to Crime Stoppers are eligible for these cash rewards.

Crime Stoppers is pleased to report that, since January, they have authorized over 50 rewards totaling $41,199. If you submitted a tip, please check to see if you are entitled to a cash reward, as unclaimed rewards expire six months after the award date. Crime Stoppers USVI is run entirely by volunteers and is financed by membership dues and sponsor contributions.
