The American Red Cross of the United States Virgin Islands announces that in anticipation of Tropical Storms Ana and Bill, the disaster operation centers throughout the territory were opened. National and local volunteers responded and are available to meet any emergency needs that may arise.
In an effort to continue training, contingency preparation and planning, a series of basic, intermediate and advanced disaster courses will be offered during the week of Aug. 18-21. All interested persons, organizations, tenent councils and neighborhood support groups should call the office to register. On St. Thomas, call 774-0375 and on St. Croix, 773-5104.
