Police Identify Wednesday Shooting Victim

June 26, 2009 — Detectives of the Major Crime Bureau on St. Thomas have identified a man killed in a shooting early Wednesday as 21-year-old Issachar Chinnery, a native of St. Thomas.
At about 3 a.m. Wednesday police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting victim on Kronprindsens Gade near Club 75. On the scene police saw an injured male in the street adjacent to the nightclub and another male unresponsive in nearby Spence Alley. Chinnery was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
The name of the wounded victim has not been reported by police. He was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The Criminal Investigation Bureau and the Major Crime Bureau are following up on this case. Anyone with information concerning these cases can call the Major Crimes Bureau at 715-5522 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
