Guardian Insurance Gets Rating Upgrade

June 6, 2009 – Guardian Insurance, the Virgin Islands largest automobile insurance carrier, announced that A.M. Best Co. has raised its financial strength rating to A- (Excellent) from B++ (Good), and its issuer credit rating to “a-“ from “bbb+”
In their official statement, A.M. Best Co. says, “These rating actions reflect Guardian Insurance’s favorable operating results, dominant automobile market share and their strong name recognition in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.”
“For 25 years, Guardian has worked diligently to earn a reputation as a committed full-service insurance provider,” said Raymond Fournier, president. “Our success is based on our service to our policyholders, our dedication to the community and the support of the Lockhart Group of Companies.”
A.M. Best Co.’s upgraded ratings serve as further evidence that Guardian is the premiere insurance provider in the Virgin Islands and among the best in the Caribbean.
In addition to being the largest automobile insurance carrier, Guardian Insurance also is among the largest providers of property and casualty insurance in the U.S.V.I. and in the BVI. Guardian provides a complete range of coverage, including: surety, marine, general liability, property insurance and as well as auto.
