Dear Source:
My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Arts Alive festival last weekend. We especially enjoyed the watercolor painting demonstration by Katiya, a greatly talented artist from Russia. She gives lessons, which we are tempted to try, although neither of us is aware that we have any talent.
Kim Young's art supplies were tantalizing as well as her mother's demonstration of paper making and Kim's demonstration of canvass stretching–never realized how easy both were. Now I know how I am going to recycle all that paper.
We noticed that artists are making their art more useable–Kristin Wall's wonderful underwater photography of fish with an attitude was transformed into coasters and small framed pieces that can be hung or set on a table. B.J. Arnold had similar useable items of her beautiful photography.
Pottery, jewelry, soaps were plentiful, and the food at Jack's was delicious–the Buffalo burgers are our favorite.
