SGVBG Will Offer Grow and Learn Program

St. George Village Botanical Garden's Grow and Learn will have a workshop on "Planting in Sandy/Caliche Soils" from 3-5 p.m., Friday, July 17, in the Pavilion at the Bovine Visitors' Center.
Sandy soil and caliche soil are less than ideal to work with when trying to maintain a garden on St. Croix. Come Grow and Learn from Carol Boston McPherson, owner of The Garden Spot, who will share her expertise and experience in finding the right plants that will survive in these difficult soils. It may be a struggle, but with persistence anyone can maintain a landscape in these challenging conditions.
The Grow and Learn series of hands-on workshops are held on the third Friday of each month in the Pavilion at the Bodine Visitors' Center. There is a $5 fee for members or $15 for non-members, call to register at 692-2874.
