VIRC&D Seeks Volunteers to Continue Cleanup of Adventure Nature Trail

March 18, 2009 – The Virgin Islands Resource Conservation & Development Council Inc. is seeking volunteers to continue to help restore the Estate Adventure Nature Trail from the damage inflicted by Hurricane Omar. Volunteers are asked to join V.I. RC&D on Tuesday, March 31, at the Adventure Trail kiosk to help mow weeds, and clear downed trees and debris. The cleanup will go from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The kiosk is located across Queen Mary Highway from the V.I. Ag Fair Grounds in Estate Lower Love, St. Croix.
All students seeking community service hours, teachers, hikers, birders, ecologists, researchers and St. Croix nature lovers who want to help restore and expand the Estate Adventure Nature Trail are welcome. Participants should bring gloves and wear clothing suitable for working in the bush. Water, snacks and tools will be provided.
