St. John Clinic Acknowledges Nutrition Month

March 18, 2009 – March is Nutrition Month and the Department of Health will commemorate the event with a presentation on nutrition at the Morris F. de Castro Clinic on St. John, according to a press release from Acting Health Commissioner Julia Sheen.
The presentation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon, Friday, March 20, at the Clinic and will be conducted by registered dietitian Rebecca Faulkner and nurse Jane Washburn. Activities will include tips on healthy eating such as portion control and label reading, as well as tips on how to improve cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar.
Prizes and educational materials will be distributed to participants.
