Sorority to Celebrate V.I. History Month With Arts Festival

March 18, 2009 – Sigma Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. will hold its 2009 Virgin Islands Arts Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Saturday, March 28, at the Tutu Park Mall Center Court. The public is cordially invited to join them in celebrating Virgin Islands History Month.
The program will feature art exhibits by local artists and students from the public schools, dancers, singers, musicians and storytellers. Balloons will be available for the children and a special V.I. History Month bookmark will be given away while supplies last. Certificates will be presented to all who participate.
"Our Virgin Islands history is rich and diverse, and we must continue to promote and celebrate our culture lest we forget. Everyone is welcomed to participate," said Elisa Hodge, program coordinator.
