Rock Lounge Open Mic Night Set for Friday

March 9, 2009 – The Rock Lounge is a free, open mic experience of poetry, music, visual arts and other creative expression. It comes together every second Friday each month. This month's get together will be held from 6-8 p.m., on Friday, March 13, at The Frenchtown Deli (located downtown Charlotte Amalie at the eastern most point of the waterfront behind the Frenchtown Post Office). Parking is available in the general area, and food, drinks and other refreshments will be available all evening.
In addition to actively seeking additional members of the core Rock Collective, the organization is taking suggestions and trying new and creative things. Offering a suggested theme of the month, which can be used as an option for inspiring creative expression of participants in a variety of artistic forms, this month's themes are Virgin Islands History and Women's History. The theme will be decided every month prior to the open mic night, giving participants an opportunity to take their time in using their form of creativity so that they can present it at the next Lounge.
Parents bringing children are especially encouraged to come in the earlier hour of the lounge, with more adult freedom of content shared in the latter hour. Also, mini surveys will be available for anonymous commentary/suggestions to facilitate improvement and the creation of a logo for the organization.
