Police Seek Witnesses to Latest St. Thomas Homicide

Feb. 22, 2009 — Police are investigating the murder of a 35-year-old man shot and killed Saturday night near his Anna's Retreat home on St. Thomas.
According to Chief of Police Rodney F. Querrard Sr., the victim, identified by his family as Charles Ham, arrived at his home in the vicinity of the Splash and Dash car wash about 10:15 p.m. Saturday. He got out of his car and was gunned down by an unknown suspect or suspects.
Detective of the Major Crimes Bureau are interviewing people in the residential area, but no suspects had been identified as of Sunday afternoon.
Police Commissioner James H. McCall urged anyone with information to step forward. There is a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect, McCall said.

Ham's death is the fifth homicide on St. Thomas since Jan. 1 and the seventh in the territory.
