Final Meetings of Two Convention Committees Slated for Feb. 13

The Committee on Government and the Committee on Suffrage of the Fifth Constitutional Convention will hold their final meetings on St. Croix from 5:30-9:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13, at the Virgin Islands Port Authority conference room at the Henry Rohlsen Airport. The Suffrage Committee will meet from 5:30-7:30 p.m., and the Government Committee will meet from 7:30-9:30 p.m., according to a press release from committee chairs Arnold Golden and Anne Golden. The meetings previously scheduled for Feb. 9, at the Board of Education and Feb. 10, are hereby cancelled.
These meetings are hosted on the same date to allow members who are in both committees to complete the work of the committees prior to making their final report in the next plenary session.
The committee chairs encourage the public to come out and participate in this democratic process. This is a chance to be heard and an opportunity to listen. The committees will continue to review the fourth draft and make those necessary adjustments as determined by a majority of the members of the committees.
Free light refreshments will be provided.
