AARP Meeting Introduces New Telemedicine Technology

Feb. 5, 2009 – The St John AARP Chapter meeting will be held at 5 p.m., on Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Nazareth Lutheran Church Meeting Hall in Cruz Bay.
Harold Wallace, administrator of the Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center, will explain how the new telemedicine technology being installed at the MKSCHC works in conjunction with digital conferencing to the Cleveland Clinic physicians in Weston, Florida, just outside of Fort Lauderdale. Patients at the St. John clinic will now be able to have a second opinion on their medical condition by experts at the Cleveland Clinic without leaving the island.
All members and guests are cordially invited. For further information, contact Joan Bermingham at 776-6182.
