Jan, 2, 2008 — St. Croix's first baby of 2009 made a timely entrance in the early morning hours of New Year's Day.
Jazmarie Amaya Joseph was born at 4:21 a.m. Jan. 1 at Juan Luis Hospital. The baby girl weighed in at 5 pounds, 4 ounces, according to the hospital.
Her mother is 24-year-old Jessica Aponte.
Mother and daughter are in good health, the hospital said, and were sent home Friday. The hospital could not release any additional information.
