Nov. 29, 2008 — Police are trying to find out whether Michael Morales, 33, is the man who died in a fiery automobile crash Wednesday night.
Morales' family reported him missing. Wednesday's crash immolated the driver of a stolen Ford Explorer. An individual whose automobile was hit in the car chase before the crash described the driver of the Explorer as an Hispanic male with locks.
Morales is 5'8", 120 pounds, has a beard and mustache and long locked hair. He is Hispanic with a fair complexion. He has two known tattoos: "Butch" on his upper left shoulder and "Jah Live" on his body.
Police ask that anyone come forward who saw or knows who the driver of the Explorer was, or who may have seen Morales alive since Wednesday.
Meanwhile, officials hope an autopsy will reveal the driver's identity, but that is expected to take a few more days, according to Police Spokeswoman Melody Rames.
Anyone with information about Morales or the accident is asked to call Cpl. Luis Encarnacion at 778-2211 or police emergency 911.
