Nov. 6, 2008 – The family of Carrel "Nicky" Brady, who disappeared two years ago, will hold a candlelight vigil in his memory beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday Saturday at the waterfront near Sweet Plantains restaurant in Coral Bay.
"Nobody can seem to find him," his sister, Daren Brady said.
The family still hopes that Brady will return home or that some word of his fate will surface.
Brady, a Coral Bay resident who suffered from mental illness, went missing in November 2006. See "Mentally Ill Coral Bay Man Now Missing for Three Weeks".
He was a familiar fixture in the Coral Bay area, walking barefoot and wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt.
Brady lived near Sweet Plantains at Little Plantation.
Age 41 when he disappeared, he was 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighed about 180 pounds. He had short salt-and-pepper dreadlocks and a beard.
He sometimes hitched rides to Cruz Bay, but at the time he disappeared another sister, Valencia Benjamin, said that when people spotted him in Cruz Bay, they would put him on the bus back to Coral Bay.
Anyone with information about Brady can call his sister, Daren Brady, at 693-5345, his brother-in-law, Patrick Benjamin at 771-2565 or the police at 911.
