Schools Plan Red Ribbon Week Activities

Oct. 30, 2008 – The observance of Red Ribbon Week 2008 continues throughout the school district. Several schools have participated in and conducted many activities to mark the observance, such as rallies, a food day, sporting events, and poetry and essay competitions, to name a few, according to a press release from St. Croix Superintendent of Schools Gary Molloy.
Other activities scheduled for the rest of the observance include:
Thursday, Oct. 30
Scare Drugs Away Step Show beginning at 1:15 p.m., at the Ricardo Richards Elementary School.
Drug-Free Talent Show beginning at 2 p.m., Evelyn M. Williams Elementary School, featuring steppers, rappers, singers and poets.
Friday, Oct. 31 beginning at 12:30 p.m., Ricardo Richards Elementary School will hold its Say Boo to Drugs Day Costume Parade
Evelyn Williams Elementary School will hold its Red Rally March through the Mount Pleasant community starting at 8:30 a.m.
