Oct. 9, 2008 Evening classes are being offered for adults in the St. Thomas-St. John District interested in obtaining a high school diploma, a basic education curriculum, a general education diploma (GED) preparation, or in taking courses in self-improvement, vocational classes or English as a second language (ESL), according to a press release from the V.I. Department of Education. Evening classes are being offered at the following locations:
Adult Continuing Education at Charlotte Amalie High School
High School Diploma– $100 per semester
ESL– $50 per semester
Self-improvement– $50 per semester
**Classes are held from 6:15-10 p.m., on Mondays through Thursdays.
Adult Basic Education at Addelita Cancryn Junior High School
Pre-GED– $50 per semester
ESL– $50 per semester
Basic Education– $50 per semester
**Classes are held from 6:15-9 p.m., on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Adult Basic Education at Julius E. Sprauve School on St. John
Pre-GED– Free
Woodworking– Free
Basic Education– Free
**Classes are held from 6:15-9 p.m., on Mondays and Wednesdays. Woodworking classes will be held on Thursdays.
Wheatley Skill Center and V.I. Career and Technical Institute
GED Preparation (Math, English, Science and Social Studies)– $50
Vocational Education (Computer Application, Cosmetology)– $125
Allied Health (EKG)———- $150
All fees are to be paid by money order or bank draft only, payable to the Government of the Virgin Islands.
