Sandra Neville Dies at 65

Aug. 14, 2008 – Sunrise: July 29, 1943; Sunset: August 12, 2008
Sandra Neville, also known as, Sandra Putnam Davis, has found peace at the age of 65. She is survived by her husband, John Neville; daughter, Hannah L. E. Davis; stepson, Donvill Davis; brothers: Daniel W. Putnam and Brian B. Putnam; sisters-in-law: Edith E. Putnam and Dianne L. Putnam; nephews: Aaron W. Putnam, Travis D. Putnam, Samuel Putnam and Adam L. Wood; and niece: Tracey Putnam. She is also survived by extended family: Jon Farnsworth and Rana Alarapon; as well as many other significant St. Croix family members and friends, too numerous to mention.
It is hard to sum up a life as valuable as Sandra's. She was the firstborn of Barbara and Harvey Putnam. She had three brothers: John, Daniel and Brian, her baby brothers. She lived in Alstead, N.H., until graduating Vilas High School in 1961, and then moved to Boston where she lived and pursued secretarial studies at Pierce Secretarial College until the late 60s. Sandra moved to St. Croix and planted roots in 1968. After marrying Henry Davis, she was an at-home-mom to stepchildren, Avril and Daron Davis, whom she loved and cared for until their passing; and Donvill Davis, whom she loved until her passing. She gave birth to Hannah, her pride and joy, in 1975, and unofficially adopted Rana Pendarvis, her singing angel, in 1992. In the 1980's she met John Neville, her friend and partner in life, who she married in 2003. Sandra was best known in the St. Croix community as a sales/rental agent and accountant for Richards and Ayer Real Estate, where she worked for 27 years.
While she is already at rest, her final wish to be buried at sea will be carried out on Sunday, Aug. 17. All who loved and respected her are welcome! We will meet at 5pm, on the Frederiksted pier for a short prayer and reflection.
The celebration-of-life party she requested will be held from 3 p.m. until, at Rhythms on Rainbow Beach, Saturday, Aug. 30. Again, all are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to: The Queen Louise Home for Children, 516 Hospital Street Frederiksted, V.I. 00841. Phone: 772-4099, ext. 24.
