Reverse the Brain Drain Networking Social Planned

The "Reverse the Brain Drain Networking Social" is a component of Generation Now's initiative to make college and technical school graduates aware of the opportunities that are in the Virgin Islands. Every year the territory loses valuable talent in students who do not return home to the territory's workforce. This initiative intends to put a dent in this "Brain Drain" by not only making the opportunities here known to the talent but by making employers aware of the talent on the mainland. Many Virgin Islanders would like to return home but have no clue on where to start.
The event will be held from 6-9 p.m., on Thursday, July 31, at Generation Now Headquarters, across from Napoleon's Pizza in Peter's Rest. The informal networking event is designed to bring together local employers with recent graduates who are seeking careers on St. Croix.
It is being hosted by Generation Now in coordination with the V.I. Department Labor, Career VI and Divi Carina Bay. All employers are invited to attend.
For further information, contact Commissioner of Labor Albert Bryan Jr. at 773-1994 or Adrienne L. Williams, president of Generation Now Inc., at 643-1710.
"We are hoping to attract young professionals who are thinking about moving back home after graduation. We want them to help build our community instead of someone else's," said Williams.
