Symposium on Health Disparities Planned

July 22, 2008 – The VICMEC and Schneider Regional Medical Center Committee present a Health Disparities Symposium: "Addressing the Need for Adequate Healthcare Products and Services in the USVI."
It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on Thursday, July 24, at the Bennie and Martha Benjamin Foundation Medical Auditorium – Charlotte Kimelman Cancer Institute
Topics will include:
Reducing Insulin and Cardiovascular Risk
People with Type II Diabetes
Metabolic Syndrome
Children Developing Type II Diabetes
A Lifestyle Approach to Diabetes
Prevention
Classifications for the Diabetic Foot vs. Ulcers
Rehabilitation in the Amputee
Portion Control Weigh
Pharmacological Management of Type II Diabetes
New Therapies for the Diabetic Patient
New Technology for Healthcare
