July 14, 2008 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 1-3 p.m., on Sunday, July 20. This Sunday we will feature music by Emmylou Harris, Tremoloco, Red Molly, Lucie Blue Tremblay, Richard Shindell, Santana and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "All I Intended to Be" by Emmylou Harris. Emmylou got her start singing harmonies with Gram Parsons and went on to have a Hall of Fame career in country music as well as having successful forays into the folk field. Her new CD has some great songs and has received great reviews from a number of music publications.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Dulcinea" from Tremoloco. This band mixes rock with a Spanish sound and produces a fine hybrid of both musical styles.
We play new music from Michael Burks, Red Molly, Blue Highway, Peter Cooper and more.
We also play music from the Lovin Spoonful, Richard Shindell, Koko Taylor, the Beatles and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of blues-artist Steve Freund, Carlos Santana and John Lodge of the Moody Blues.
We include music from Lucie Blue Tremblay, who is appearing on St. Croix.
We give away a copy of the new two-CD greatest hits from Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys and also give away CDs from the Boulder Acoustic Society, folk-artist Bucky Halker and Pete Seeger.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker; and St. Thomas Radiology Associates.
