Feb. 10, 2008 — A 34-year-old man was killed Saturday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding plowed into the back of a truck carrying gravel.
Police said Tracy Natta was killed on impact in the accident, which occurred around 1 p.m. The accident happened on the north lane of the Melvin Evans Highway on St. Croix just after the turnoff to the Nova Scotia Bank.
Traffic Investigation Bureau officers say speed may have been a factor. Skid marks were seen 100 feet before the point of impact, according to St. Croix District Chief Thomas Hannah.
This is the fourth motorcycle fatality in the past six months.
