Bureau of Internal Revenue Will Close for Training

Jan. 31, 2008 – The Virgin Islands Bureau of Internal Revenue will close all of its offices on St. Thomas, St. Croix and St. John on Friday, Feb. 1. The closure will allow the employees to attend an all-day professional development training, according to a press release from BIR.
The excise offices will also be closed; however, arrangements have been made with the U.S. Department of Customs to assist those taxpayers who will clear shipments on Friday. Based on these arrangements, the BIR does not anticipate any interruption in its port clearance procedures.
The offices will resume normal working hours on Monday, Feb. 4.
