Rising Stars Youth Steel Orchestra to Give Christmas Concert

Dec. 5, 2007 – The Rising Stars Youth Steel Orchestra will present their annual Christmas concert, at 7 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 16, at Reichhold Center for the Arts. There will be 150 members of the group performing, according to a press release from the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands and the Rising Stars. The orchestra will perform a variety of selections, including classical, contemporary, calypso and traditional Christmas music. They will incorporate into their concert the play "Ah Pan for Christmas" by Caribbean playwright Paul Keens Douglas.
"Tickets cost $20 for the covered section, $15 for the uncovered middle section and $5 for the uncovered upper section. They can be purchased at Island Video in Nisky Center, International Records and Tapes on Backstreet, Modern Music (Havensight), VI Bridal and Tuxedo Center Inc., Krystal & Gifts Galore (Tutu Park Mall) and Reichhold Center for the Arts.
