United Way and Human Services to Host 'Day of Caring'

United Way and the Department of Human Services will host a Day of Caring as part of Project Homeless Connect. It will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 16, at Lionel Roberts Stadium, St. Thomas.
Many agencies and advocates for the homeless will be present: the Departments of Health and Human Services, Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, Methodist Training Outreach and others.
There will be free food, entertainment and give-aways for the homeless. Services available will include: hygiene products, testing for blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol, dental screening, employment services, food stamps, WIC vouchers, flu shots, HIV rapid testing, legal assistance, housing information, and much more. Volunteers are needed.
