Oct. 3, 2007 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 7. This Sunday we will feature music by Patti Scialfa, Arlon Bennett, Jimmy Duck Holmes, Janet Reiter, Dusty Springfield, John Mellencamp and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Play It As It Lays," the new release from Patti Scialfa. Best known as the wife of Bruce Springsteen, Patti shows she has the vocal chops and songwriting skills to hold her own in the rock field. This is her third solo CD and is a strong effort.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Summer's Voice," a fine release from singer-songwriter Arlon Bennett.
We play new music from Michelle Shocked, Jimmy Duck Holmes, John Fogerty, Bobby Rush and more.
We include music from the Beatles, Dusty Springfield, Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets, Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of John Mellencamp, Kieran Kane, and dobro virtuoso Sally Van Meter.
We also include music from Terri Hendrix, who will be performing, along with Lloyd Maines, at Tillett Gardens on St. Thomas, Jan. 23, 2008. We also play music from the Pop Tarts. Janet Reiter of the Pop Tarts will be performing at October Sunday on St. Thomas, at Magens Bay Beach on Oct. 21. We also include music from blues artist Sean Carney, who will be performing at the St. John Blues Festival in March of 2008.

We give away a copy of the latest release from folk-rocker Steve Earle as well as two fine new alternative country CDs. We give away a copy of the Derailers new tribute CD to Buck Owens as well as the new release from Walt Wilkins and the Mystiqueros, whose new CD was produced by Lloyd Maines.
