June 28, 2007 Gloria Frett-Lake died on June 22, in New York. She was 41 years old.
She is survived by her husband, Carlos Lake; mother, Ivy Frett; second mother, Bernice Fredericks; sons: Akimba Jones Sr. and Kamoi Lake; and daughters: Ranisha Stephens and Ky'anah Lake. Other survivors include stepson, Codero Lake; stepdaughter, Careema Lake; grandson, Akimba Jones Jr.; sisters: Cecile Williams, Georgette Leopold-Albert and Ellena Frett; brother, Rudolph Frett; uncles: Alfred, Joseph and Albert Carty; aunt, Loretta Richardson; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing from 4-6 p.m., on Sunday, July 1, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel. A second viewing will take place from 9-10 a.m., on Monday, July 2, at Christ Church Methodist. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m., at the church. Interment will be at Western Cemetery No. 1.
