May 19, 2007 – Gallery St. Thomas will present a one-day workshop designed for artists and those who are interested in learning the fundamentals of papermaking through an intensive hands-on approach. Instructor Swann Kipnis, with over 20 years experience in the art of papermaking, will lead the workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 2. Class size is limited; call the gallery to reserve a space. The workshop fee is $45 at sign up (credit cards accepted) and includes all materials. Students will leave with their own samples of handmade papers from sugar cane, banana leaf and coconut palm fibers.
