VIPD Asking for Help to Locate Runaway Minors

April 18, 2007 — V.I. Police and Human Services officials are asking for the public's help in locating three runaway minors on St. Croix. According to police reports, the minors, two females and a male, left their residences without permission late Sunday afternoon, April 15, 2007.
The runaway minors are:
–Sasha Alvarez (DOB July 4, 1991), a 15-year-old female minor who may have relatives who reside in the Mutual Homes Housing Community. She is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall with shoulder-length black hair.
–Anne Marie Monsegue (DOB May 2, 1989), a 17-year-old female minor who may have relatives in Estates Colquhoun and Strawberry. She is described as a black female, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, black hair and dark eyes.
–Shawn Benjamin Jr. (DOB May 12, 1993), a 13-year-old male minor and resident of St. Thomas, was last seen at the basketball court in the Mutual Homes Housing Community. He is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, dark hair and dark eyes.
Detectives of the Youth Investigation Bureau, Patrol Division and others are conducting their search effort in the area where relatives may be located and at Mutual Homes.
Commissioners McCall and Finch have asked residents of St. Croix and St. Thomas to help find these minors and return them home to their families.
According to a VIPD release, both commissioners added that Gov. John deJongh Jr. has been apprised of the situation, expressing his concern for the safe return of the minors in view of the recent incidents involving minors in the territory.
Anyone with information, please call the Criminal Investigation Bureau in St. Croix at (340) 712-6027, ext. 6029. On St. Thomas, please call the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 715-5522 or Emergency 911 for your respective District. Any information given will be held in the strictest of confidence.
