Archaeology and Anthropology Project to Be Presented

March 17, 2007 – The Virgin Islands State Historic Preservation Office and Dr. Pia Bennike of the University of Copenhagen will host a presentation and discussion of the U.S. Virgin Islands-Danish Project, which will focus on our common history, according to a press release from DPNR. It is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands-Danish Archaeological, Historical and Anthropological Project.
Bennike will present for discussion "Voices from Beyond the Graves," the ongoing burial archaeological research on St. Croix and projected burial excavations at the Punch Archaeological Site and the Estate St. George Botanical Garden. The community is encouraged to give input and participate in the discussion. It will be held at 6 p.m., Sunday, March 18, at Estate St. George Botanical Garden Great Hall, St. Croix.
