The Achievements of the Recall Petition

Dear Source:
FINALLY a senator addresses this Recall issue! Thank you Senator Terence "Positive" Nelson for stepping up to the plate and acknowledging the voices of the people of the VI's. I for one, am able to forgive this issue-because there have been incredible lessons for everyone involved-which can only provide us with better ways to work together in improving our VI government.
I believe these are a few of those lessons: No more last minute "sneaky" legislative meetings and Bill passing without the public knowledge; our "Freedom of Information" access must be reviewed and improved for better accountability; the people must recognize the incredible importance of this next Constitutional Convention and get involved to improve our government system; our Senators must be better qualified and much more professional in representing us (the KKK tantrum on our Legislative floor and inappropriate FCC letters on our Legislative Letterhead are perfect examples of inappropriate behavior); and no more "ignoring" the people who you serve.
Through this incredible process-the people of the VI's have become empowered. These are some of the "gifts" that have come out of this issue. However, there are also more "amends" that need to be made to clear up this problem.
Roger W. Morgan needs to be given an apology; the inappropriate FCC letter withdrawn immediately with compensation for lawyer fees made to Mr. Morgan by the Senators who's names are on this petition to stop "Free Speech", consequently threatening the peoples constitutional rights of expression. Demonstration of responsible behavior should be the number one goal of every one of our public officials-and now here is your opportunity to prove your character and heal this issue.
I would also suggest that some of our Senators would be wise to do some counseling in self-awareness; emotional-awareness as well as finding a workshop like "Looking at racial issues and how to resolve inner Conflict".
If anyone of us have prayed for a miracle to help heal our Virgin Islands-I would like to suggest that God has answered our prayers- through this incident. Now-each Senator must undo the mess that they personally have created. I don't believe our Virgin Islands will ever be the same…there is a "oneness" that has been achieved uniting the good people to move forward to be a bigger part of our future.
Feel Proud…Virgin Islanders!
