The Forum Presents The Moscow String Quartet

Feb. 15, 2007 – The Forum will present The Moscow String Quartet at 8 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 16, at the Reichhold Center for the Arts.
The legendary cellist, Pablo Casals, founded the Casals Festival in Puerto Rico 50 years ago, and today it is recognized as one of the world's greatest music festivals. For the last ten years, it has brought one of the Casals Festival programs and performers to St. Thomas.
"This represents a remarkable opportunity for lovers of great music," Neil Prior, chairman of the Forum said, "and this year is no exception with the arrival of the Moscow String Quartet. We are truly fortunate to have established this partnership."
The performers of this all-woman ensemble are famous on the international circuit: Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Berlin, Paris, New York, Philadelphia and the White House.
Their performance at the Reichhold will cover a century of Russian musical genius: Borodin, Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich.
Tickets are $40 and are available at Reichhold Center for the Arts, Modern Music (Nisky) Parrot Fish, Dockside Bookstore (Havensight), Interiors (Fort Mylner) and Home Again (Red Hook).
